Captured beautifully by Archaeology PhD student, Holly Young, this photo showcases not only the vibrant colours of the flag but also a rainbow in the sky—a perfect reminder of the beauty in embracing our differences.

The flag, kindly loaned to us by The Orkney Pride group, served as a visible reminder of our dedication to fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals are respected and celebrated for their unique identities.

Throughout the month, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Orkney also organized various events and initiatives to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ history and issues, fostering meaningful discussions and promoting understanding among students, faculty, and staff.

"We believe that by celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month, we not only honour the past struggles and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community but also inspire a future of greater equality and acceptance," added Kerri Bickmore, Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager.

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Orkney remains dedicated to upholding values of diversity, inclusivity, and respect, ensuring that all members of the community feel valued and empowered to thrive.
