º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness finalists set to shine at first-ever Highlands and Islands Apprenticeship Awards
º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness apprentices, employer partners and a staff team have been shortlisted for the first-ever Highland and Islands Apprenticeship Awards.
The awards, which celebrate excellence in apprenticeship training, have attracted successful nominations from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness and its partners in many of the award categories. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Thursday, 27 November.
Professor Chris O’Neil, Principal and Chief Executive of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness, said the number of finalists associated with º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness is testament to the skills, ambition and innovation of its learners and within industry.
“I am very pleased to see so many of our students, partners and staff recognised as finalists,” he said.
“This achievement reflects the wealth of talent and skills not only on our campus but also across the industry employers we work with throughout the region. Apprenticeships are vital for developing the workforce of the future, and these nominations underline the strength and effectiveness of the collaboration between education, industry and apprentices.”
The event features 14 award categories designed to celebrate the outstanding apprenticeship network across the region. The shortlisted nominees either entered by or connected to º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness are:
- Training Provider/Programme of the Year, Business Solutions Team, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness
- Graduate Apprentice of the Year, Kerry Dolan of Abriachan Forest School
- Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year, Brandon Kinvig of Boiler and Valve Engineering Limited and Joshua Morrison of Ross-shire Engineering.
- Energy & Utilities Apprentice of the Year, Struan Coli, Ri Cruden Ltd
- Construction Apprentice of the Year, Aiden Reid, Springfield Properties Plc and Kaii Foxcroft, RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd
- Apprentice Ambassador of the Year, Andrew Macdonald of Boiler and Valve Engineering Limited and Mike Campbell of RSE
- SME Employer of the Year, Boiler and Valve Engineering Limited
- Large Employer of the Year, Ross-shire Engineering - Muir of Ord
A number of our partners were shortlisted in a range of categories, including Ri Cruden Limited and LifeScan Engineering Apprentice Programme.
º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness is the largest apprenticeship training provider in the Highlands and has achieved exceptional apprenticeship growth over recent years, to meet skills needs and future economic demands. There are currently more than 1,300 apprenticeships in training at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness and that figure is expected to increase throughout the academic year.
The Highlands and Islands Apprenticeship Awards is a new event for 2025 and has been established to shine a spotlight on the talent and dedication within the region’s apprenticeship network.
